This unstoppable multi-unit franchise owner duo has made their mark on Georgia and is now heading to Alabama.
Entrepreneurs Zain Attawala and Sagar Panjwani began their franchisee journey with the My Eyelab franchise in 2017 and have been immensely successful since.
Zain and Sagar’s portfolio continues to rapidly expand as they now own 21 locations in the Atlanta, Georgia market and plan to open additional stores in 2022. To add to their extensive portfolio, Zain and Sagar are changing the game by opening new locations in a brand new market.
Rapid Expansion of An Innovative Franchise
When deciding where they wanted to expand, Zain and Sagar considered three factors: affordability, demand and an opportunity for retail franchise growth. Alabama not only checked all three boxes, but it’s also within close proximity to their My Eyelab headquarters, which is an added benefit for the two.
It wasn’t long before they signed a franchise agreement to open 15 locations within the next 36 months. This historic agreement will bring the first My Eyelab store to Alabama, creating several jobs in the Birmingham, Montgomery and Huntsville areas.
Opening several locations in the market eliminates space for competition, allows them to scale and helps them build relationships with landlords to find additional locations. Additionally, opening more stores will enable them to provide easy eye care to more customers and to create employment opportunities for the local communities. Zain and Sagar credit their employees as their “sole recipe of success,” and they’ve made it their mission to provide great benefits and allow their employees to relocate as needed.
Support Leads to Success
Since 2017, Zain and Sagar have received ongoing marketing, real estate, and franchise development support from My Eyelab, allowing them to grow and expand successfully.
“The My Eyelab team has been instrumental to our success by helping us stay ahead of the curve,” says Zain.
The My Eyelab team has also created a business model that is easy to replicate, making the expansion process easier for franchise owners. Zain and Sagar are well-prepared to open stores in these new markets thanks to the simplified, technologically advanced business model.
Service Sets Them Apart
Many retail eye care stores struggled throughout the COVID-19 pandemic; however, My Eyelab received groundbreaking recognition for being the only retail eye care brand that remained open with limited person-to-person contact.
“This recognition was a big blessing for us because we were able to provide a service that our competitors couldn’t,” says Zain.
The limited-contact service was and is still a central selling point for My Eyelab because other retail eye care stores require doctors to be on-site, which causes patients to have to wait an average of 45 days to be serviced.
Hungry For More Success
Zain and Sagar’s success has been great, and they don’t plan to stop expanding any time soon. Over the past few years, they’ve enjoyed servicing thousands of people who trust them with their eye care and vision needs. They also take pride in and attribute their success to hiring employees who have a passion for serving others.
“If the team didn’t exist, we wouldn’t be where we are. They are hands-down the most important factor,” says Zain.
After opening all 15 locations in Alabama, Zain and Sagar have their eyes on Tennessee and South Georgia to expand their portfolio even further.
These all-star franchisees continue to prove that anything is possible with hard work and a solid team.
